Long weekend in Sydney

 

Taipei

Back-to-back weekends, not sure I have the energy for this anymore! Josh's (not 40th) birthday in Taipei. First time on Greater Bay Airlines, not too expensive, good flight times and pretty comfortable. Thankfully no immigration lines, but despite leaving work at 6 pm still managed to get to hotel around 11 pm. Still I forget how easy it is to get over to Taipei. Good fun weekend, although being out and about the whole day Sunday, it's definitely a young man's game. Glad to get the earlier flight back into Hong Kong.

Vietnam

The excitement of the long weekend has finally crept back into the year. The June Monday public holiday was flagged and with Albert spending time in Ho Chi Minh City it was an excuse to head over and take some time off. The afterwork Vietjet is becoming quite the routine, 7:50 pm scheduled to arrive into HCMC at 9:30. It's always delayed and yet I always feel so rushed to leave the office on time. Short trip, surprisingly not too many photos, but I remember the trip quite clearly.

Cleared airport around 11:30 dropped my backpack off at the hotel and headed out for Pho Gia before retiring early. The following day, explored town, Bay Ho Banh Mi, some Coconut iced coffee, into some Seafood Noodles, Bun Nuoc Leo, then into some Tomato rice chicken and dinner and drinks. The following day was some Bun Bo Hue and a failed attempt at Com Tam (we'll be back for another attempt).

In with the new

When I tell people I've moved to North Point, the look on their faces is a combination of confusiong and pity. "Why are you moving further away?". Moving in and out of Happy Valley to North Point is not easy, not sure if it's more a function of Happy Valley or more a function of North Point.
